Information we collect

Your mobile number, which you verify with a one-time code to sign in.
An optional email address and display name, and a profile photo if you choose to add one.
Your choices in the app: the investors you follow, items you save, and your alert and notification preferences.
If you turn on push notifications, a device token so we can deliver them.
Basic technical and usage information needed to operate and secure the service.

The investor and company activity shown in the app comes from publicly available information, not from you.

How we use it

To sign you in and run your account.
To personalise your feed around the investors you follow.
To send the alerts, emails, or push notifications you have opted into.
To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
To understand how the app is used so we can improve it.

How it is shared

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run the app, such as hosting, sign-in, email delivery, and error monitoring, and only to the extent they need it to provide those services. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights and the safety of our users.

Cookies and local storage

We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Data security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymise your personal information, except where we must retain it by law.

Your choices

View and update your name, email, and photo from your profile.
Turn email and push notifications on or off at any time.
Delete your account, which removes your personal information.

Children

WhaleWatch is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page, and significant changes will be highlighted in the app.
